About
Born in Moscow, I studied General Medicine at the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute, completing my residency in Neurology. After completing my medical training the mid-1990s, my wife and I emigrated to Canada, where we currently live in Toronto, Ontario.
Besides my main work, I have been actively engaged in visual arts – painting and digital graphics. I developed my artistic practice under the informal mentorship of artists Diana Belaya and Fyodor Tamarsky (France), to whom I owe my deepest gratitude. While I participated in few exhibitions, many of my works are held in private collections across Canada, the USA, France, and Russia. I was a professional member of CARFAC until recently.
I also write, beginning in the mid-2000s. My literary work includes essays, poetry, and experimental texts.
In my writing, I explore liminal states of consciousness and reality, play with absurdity and paradoxes of modern life, and reflect on time, memory, and illusions. I'm interested in creating a lively and light atmosphere and finding methods adequate to this task.
In painting and graphics, I work with fantastic images and abstractions, creating visual equivalents of the same explorations.
